Seals Training Management Team emphasizes Safety and Preventative Maintenance techniques to promote crew and equipment good health and long lives.

Seals developed the step process for On-the-water training and implemented it into Seals training program. We found it to be quite useful, especially for students that have zero (O) stick time and for professionals in Air Boat operations.

Our DOI/FWC approved Courses are hands on and we strongly stress SAFETY throughout the classroom training as well as during the on-the-water practices. We want students to not only get quality instruction, but also learn all about the safety aspects of operating any type of watercraft while being trained.

Our Management Team brings to you over 40 years of experience in the Marine Safety and Training arena.

We share our experience and instruction methods with professional responders, commercial operators and recreational boaters.

Seal's goals are providing the necessary basic skills to become a safer boater.
For experienced operators and professional Captains, we work to hone your skills to a higher level. For beginning air boaters Seals provides a hands-on course that helps builds your self-confidence and helps develop safety habits and techniques.

Our courses meet and exceed most recognized standards in all 50 States.

Seal utilizes the latest training aids like blue tooth wireless head sets to insure continuous communications between instructor and students for safer on-the-water operations.

Seals has adopted the Florida Airboat Operator Course (AOC), Department of Interior (DOI) hands-on Airboat Operator Certification Course (AOCC), and Motorboat Operator Certification Course (MOCC) to combine both classroom and hands-on practical skill sets.
Seals provides both AOC, MOCC manuals with all files used during the course on a flash drive for future reference.
The AOCC and MOCC have been accepted by numerous Federal, State and County Government Agencies as well as Professional Responders such as Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Fire Rescue, Search and Rescue and Homeland Security. Agencies outside the Law Enforcement/Rescue group, such as Aquatic Weed Control and Mosquito Control groups have seen the benefit of the AOCC adopting a standardized and accredited Airboat safety training program to meet their professional certification needs.

Seals promotes Crew Resource Management (CRM) in all marine operations.

ABOUT US
Seals recognized a void in the airboat training field.
It became very evident when the State of Florida passed a requirement for airboat captains (for hire) to have completed the Airboat Operator Course (AOC) by mid-year 2019 due to the increase in airboating accidents in the State of Florida.

Since 2013 there have been over 1,000,000 reported boating (Note: Reported) accidents in Florida. Florida has always been the top state for reported boating accidents.
Seals feels that requirement one day will affect anyone that drives an airboat in the State of Florida's water connected intracoastal waterways.
Training is always a good thing.
Master Captain Larry Helton developed the approved DOI/FWC training program in the State of Florida. He holds a 100 Ton NC license with commercial towing endorsements, seaman, Wiper and a commercial senior scuba diver rating. His background included senior manufacturing engineering, corporate pilot, general manager of an engineering service company which operated a fleet of boats. Three of those boats were airboats of different sizes supporting contracts for the Water Management Districts in the State of Florida.
